एसएस न्यूज.वाशिंगटन। व्हाइड हाउस के अनुभवी पत्रकार और इंडिया अमेरिका टुडे संवाद समिति के संपादक एवं संस्थापक तेजिंदर सिंह का अमेरिका में निधन हो गया। प्रकाशन ने यह घोषणा की। सिंह ने वाशिंगटन स्थित स्वतंत्र मीडिया संगठन और समाचार प्रदाता ‘इंडिया अमेरिका टुडे’ की स्थापना की थी। प्रकाशन ने 29 मई को ट्विटर पर कहा, “इंडिया अमेरिका टुडे अपने संस्थापक एवं संपादक तेजिंदर सिंह के निधन की घोषणा करते हुए अत्यंत दुखी है। उन्होंने 2012 में आईएटी शुरू किया था और हम उनके द्वारा शुरू किए गए काम को जारी रखेंगे। उनकी आत्मा को शांति मिले।”
पेंटागन के प्रेस सचिव जॉन एफ किर्बी ने मंगलवार को संवाददाता सम्मेलन में उनके निधन पर शोक व्यक्त किया।उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘हम यहां पेंटागन में तेजिंदर सिंह के निधन पर संवेदनाएं एवं शोक प्रकट करने के लिए कुछ समय लेना चाहेंगे, जिन्हें आपमें से कई इंडिया अमेरिका टुडे के संस्थापक एवं संपादक के तौर पर जानते हैं।’’
किर्बी ने कहा, “वह 2011 से पेंटागन के संवाददाता थे और मैंने इस मंच से उनसे बात की है, मैंने तब से उनके प्रश्नों का सामना किया है जब मैं विदेश मंत्रालय के मंच पर था और उनके बारे में सोचने पर जो एक शब्द मन में आता है वह यह है कि तेजिंदर एक सज्जन व्यक्ति थे।
उन्होंने कहा, “वह वास्तव में सज्जन व्यक्ति, अच्छे रिपोर्टर, बहुत ही अच्छे रिपोर्टर थे। कठिन सवाल पूछते थे और अच्छी सामग्रियां उपलब्ध कराते थे। वह बहुत बेहतरीन व्यक्ति थे। और हम सबको वह बहुत याद आएंगे।” सिंह एशियाई अमेरिकी पत्रकार संगठन (एएजेए-डीसी) के उपाध्यक्ष (प्रिंट) थे।
