फ़रवरी, 2004 की बात है। पूर्वोत्तर राज्यों का प्रादेशिक सन्त समागम सम्पन्न होने के बाद ओड़िशा की राजधानी भुवनेश्वर से झारखण्ड के जमशेदपुर शहर की ओर क़ाफ़िला जा रहा था।
फ़रवरी, 2004 की बात है। पूर्वोत्तर राज्यों का प्रादेशिक सन्त समागम सम्पन्न होने के बाद ओड़िशा की राजधानी भुवनेश्वर से झारखण्ड के जमशेदपुर शहर की ओर क़ाफ़िला जा रहा था। दोपहर तीन बजे का समय था। दोपहर के भोजन के लिए गेस्ट हाउस देख रहे थे ताकि सुविधाजनक ढंग से भोजन ग्रहण कर सकें। साथ चल रहे सुरक्षा दस्ते के एक अफ़सर से पूछा गया कि गेस्ट हाउस कितनी दूर है? उन्होंने बताया कि 3-4 किलो मीटर की दूरी पर है।

इसी बीच सतगुरु बाबा जी की एक ढाबे पर नज़र पड़ी। चूँकि गाड़ियाँ तेज रफ़्तार में थीं, इसलिए ढाबा पीछे रह गया। हुज़ूर ने कहा गाड़ियाँ वापस लें, उसी ढाबे पर भोजन करेंगे। जैसे ही ढाबे पर क़ाफ़िले ने, जिसमें पुलिसकर्मी भी थे, दस्तक दी तो ढाबे वाला घबरा सा गया। सोचने लगा पता नहीं कौन लोग हैं?

लेकिन जैसे ही बाबा जी की दिव्य छवि देखी को देखा तो उसे अहसास हुआ कि कोई सन्त हैं। उसे ख़ुशी हुई कि क़िसी दिव्य पुरुष ने दर्शन दिये हैं। बाबा जी ने भोजन किया और फिर उस ढाबे वाले से पूछा कि आप यहाँ कब से ढाबा चला रहे हैं? यह ओड़िशा का पिछड़ा इलाक़ा है और अक्सर लूटमार की घटनायें होती रहती हैं। वह कहने लगा ढाबा तो कई सालों से चल रहा है लेकिन जो कमाता हूँ सब डकैत लूट कर ले जाते हैं। इसलिए इस ढाबे की यह दयनीय स्थिति है।
