नई दिल्ली: सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने मंगलवार को कुछ याचिकाकर्ताओं द्वारा सोशल मीडिया और वेबसाइटों पर समानांतर बहस पर आपत्ति जताई, जिन्होंने कथित पेगासस स्नूपिंग मामले की स्वतंत्र जांच की मांग करते हुए याचिका दायर की थी और कहा था कि उन्हें अनुशासन का पालन करना चाहिए।
प्रधान न्यायाधीश एन वी रमना की अध्यक्षता वाली पीठ ने कहा कि शीर्ष अदालत बहस के खिलाफ नहीं है, लेकिन जब मामला अदालत में लंबित है, तो यहां इस पर विचार किया जाना चाहिए। केंद्र की ओर से पेश सॉलिसिटर जनरल तुषार मेहता ने पीठ से कहा कि उन्हें याचिकाओं में उठाए गए मुद्दे पर सरकार से निर्देश लेने के लिए कुछ समय चाहिए।

पीठ ने कहा, “हम यही कह रहे हैं। हम पार्टियों से सवाल पूछते हैं। हम दोनों पक्षों को काम पर लेते हैं। इस मामले पर यहां विचार-विमर्श किया जाना चाहिए और सोशल मीडिया और वेबसाइटों पर इस पर बहस नहीं होनी चाहिए। पार्टियों को सिस्टम में विश्वास होना चाहिए। शीर्ष अदालत एडिटर्स गिल्ड ऑफ इंडिया द्वारा दायर याचिका सहित कई याचिकाओं पर सुनवाई कर रही थी, जिसमें कथित पेगासस जासूसी मामले की स्वतंत्र जांच की मांग की गई थी।
ये दलीलें सरकारी एजेंसियों द्वारा प्रतिष्ठित नागरिकों, राजनेताओं और शास्त्रियों पर इजरायली फर्म एनएसओ के स्पाइवेयर पेगासस का उपयोग करके कथित तौर पर जासूसी करने की रिपोर्ट से संबंधित हैं। एक अंतरराष्ट्रीय मीडिया संघ ने बताया है कि 300 से अधिक सत्यापित भारतीय मोबाइल फोन नंबर पेगासस स्पाइवेयर का उपयोग करके निगरानी के संभावित लक्ष्यों की सूची में थे। 5 अगस्त को मामले के दौरान शीर्ष अदालत ने कहा था कि, पेगासस से संबंधित जासूसी में सुनवाई “गंभीर प्रकृति” है यदि उन पर रिपोर्ट सही है।
