5. पूजा का अंतिम दिन: जहां नवरात्रि का समापन दशहरे पर रावण के पुतले जलाने के साथ होता है, वहीं दुर्गा पूजा का समापन सिंदूर खेला के साथ होता है, जहां विवाहित महिलाएं मूर्तियों के विसर्जन से पहले एक दूसरे पर सिंदूर (सिंदूर) लगाती हैं, जिसके बाद सभी लोग नृत्य करते हैं। देवी को नदी में विसर्जन के लिए ले जाते समय ढाक की ताली बजाई।
दो त्योहारों के बीच मतभेदों के बावजूद, नवरात्रि और दुर्गा पूजा के दिनों का उद्देश्य लोगों को एक साथ लाना है।
