नगर निगम सोनीपत के आम चुनावों में सोमवार को कुल पांच प्रत्याशियों ने अलग-अलग वार्ड से नामांकन पत्र जमा करवाये। पांचों ही उम्मीदवारों ने पार्षद पदों के लिए नामांकन किया है। यह जानकारी जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी एवं उपायुक्त श्याम लाल पूनिया ने दी।

जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी एवं उपायुक्त पूनिया ने बताया कि वार्ड नंबर-3 से दो उम्मीदवारों ने अपने नामांकन पत्र दाखिल किये हैं। साथ ही वार्ड नंबर-5 से एक प्रत्याशी और वार्ड नंबर-14 से भी एक उम्मीदवार ने पर्चा भरा है।
वार्ड नंबर-3 से 51 वर्षीय सुरिंद्र मदान ने निर्वाचन अधिकारी एवं एसडीएम विजय सिंह के पास अपना नामांकन पत्र जमा करवाया। ये बिजनेस करते हैं। निर्वाचन अधिकारी विजय सिंह के पास ही 48 वर्षीय जितेंद्र कुमार ने भी नामांकन पत्र दाखिल किया है, जो बिजनेस करते हैं। वार्ड नंबर-5 से उम्मीदवार के रूप में रामेश्वर कटारिया ने निर्वाचन अधिकारी विजय सिंह के पास अपना नामांकन पत्र जमा करवाया, जिनकी आयु 46 वर्ष है। ये बिजनेस करते हैं। इनके अलावा वार्ड नंबर-14 से प्रत्याशी सतीश गुप्ता ने अपना नामांकन पत्र निर्वाचन अधिकारी एवं जिला परिषद के सीईओ अमरदीप के पास जमा करवाया है। इनके साथ ही वार्ड नंबर-9 से महिला प्रत्याशी के रूप में सुनैना कोहली ने निर्वाचन अधिकारी एवं नगर निगम के संयुक्त आयुक्त सुभाषचंद्र के पास अपना नामांकन पत्र दाखिल किया है। इस प्रकार आज पार्षद पदों के लिए पांच नामांकन दाखिल किये गये हैं, जबकि मेयर पद के लिए सोमवार को कोई नामांकन नहीं आया।

जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी एवं उपायुक्त पूनिया ने बताया कि मेयर तथा पार्षद पदों के लिए नामांकन जमा करवाने की अंतिम तिथि 16 दिसंबर है। उन्होंने बताया कि इसके बाद कोई नामांकन जमा नहीं किया जाएगा। नामांकन पत्रों की छंटनी का कार्य 17 दिसंबर को होगा। इसके उपरांत 18 दिसंबर को चुनाव चिन्ह आवंटित किये जायेंगे।
