एसएस न्यूज.सोनीपत। नगर परिषद गोहाना द्वारा दीनबंधु चौधरी सर छोटूराम स्मारक का उद्घाटन समारोह कार्यक्रम में उपायुक्त श्याम लाल पूनिया ने कहा कि दीनबंधू चौधरी सर छोटूराम स्मारक उद्घाटन किया तथा उनकी प्रतिमा पर पुष्पांजलि अर्पित की। उन्होंने कहा कि सामाजिक संस्थाएं किसी व्यक्ति विशेष की नहीं होती, ऐसे में हर वर्ग की उल्लेखनीय भागीदारी ही समाज को नई दिशा देती है। उपायुक्त ने कहा कि बिना किसी भेदभाव के हर वर्ग के उत्थान में महान व्यक्तित्व वाले सर छोटूराम अग्रणी रहे और यही कारण है कि उन्होंने समाज में पीडि़त किसान, कमेरे वर्ग को सीधे तौर पर राहत पहुंचाई गई। किसी भी समाज में असमानता को समानता का राह दिखाने में महापुरुषों की अहम भूमिका रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि सामाजिक सद्भाव और आपसी भाईचारे को मजबूत करने के लिए हमें दीनबंधु सर छोटूराम द्वारा दिखाए गए मार्ग पर चलना होगा।

एसडीएम प्रदीप कुमार ने कहा कि छोटूराम ने किसान और मजदूरों के उत्थान में जीवन लगा दिया था। छोटूराम स्मारक देखने पर लगे कि किसानों के मसीहा छोटूराम का स्मारक है। नगर परिषद चेयरपर्सन रजनी विरमानी ने कहा कि स्मारक के सौंदर्गीकरण पर 20 लाख रुपए खर्च किए गए हैं। इसके अलावा शहर के सभी स्मारकों का भी सौंदर्यकरण करवाया गया है जिसमें विश्वकर्मा चौंक, शहीद भगत सिंह चौक, महावीर चौक, चौधरी देवीलाल चौंक, भीमराव अंबेडकर चौंक व भगवान परशुराम चौंक, महाराज सुर सैनी चौंक का निर्माण कार्य चल रहा है।
