उपायुक्त पूनिया बुधवार को एक निजी स्कूल में आयोजित सेल्फ डिफेंस ट्रेनिंग कैंप के उद्घाटन अवसर पर बोल रहे थे। शिविर का आयोजन जिला बाल कल्याण परिषद के तत्वावधान में नेशनल तांगसूडो फैडरेशन ऑफ इंडिया के सहयोग से किया गया है। पूनिया ने कहा कि 21वीं सदी में माता-पिता की जिम्मेदारी बढ़ गई है कि वे अपने बच्चों विशेष रूप से पुत्रों को संस्कार प्रदान करें। यदि बेटों का सिखाया जाए कि उन्हें बेटियों के साथ अच्छा सम्मानजनक व्यवहार करना है तो समस्या का समाधान खुद ब खुद हो जाएगा।

परिषद के रोहतक मंडल के मंडलीय अधिकारी अनिल मलिक ने उपायुक्त का स्वागत किया और कहा कि आत्मरक्षा प्रशिक्षण सरीखे कार्यक्रम लगातार जारी रहेंगे। जिला बाल कल्याण अधिकारी सुरेखा हुड्डा ने बताया कि 17 से 19 मार्च तक आयोजित सेल्फ डिफेंस ट्रेनिंग कैंप में 150 लड़कियां-महिलाएं हिस्सा ले रही हैं, जिन्हें तांगसूडो कोच मनोज जांगड़ा प्रशिक्षण प्रदान करेंगे। कार्यक्रम में मंच का संचालन एबीआरसी मोनिका दहिया ने कुशलतापूर्वक किया।
