केंद्र ने गुरुवार को शीर्ष अदालत को बताया कि एनईईटी-पीजी परीक्षा अधिसूचना जारी होने के बाद ओबीसी और ईडब्ल्यूएस आरक्षण की शुरुआत "खेल के नियमों को बदलने" के बीच में नहीं है।
नई दिल्ली: सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने शुक्रवार को इस शैक्षणिक वर्ष के लिए NEET PG प्रवेश में आर्थिक रूप से कमजोर वर्ग (EWS) और 27 प्रतिशत अन्य पिछड़ा वर्ग (OBC) के आरक्षण को बरकरार रखा। काउंसलिंग दो महीने के लिए रुकी हुई थी, जिससे चिकित्सा पेशेवरों का गुस्सा आकर्षित हुआ। सुप्रीम कोर्ट से बहुप्रतीक्षित मंजूरी मिलने के बाद, राष्ट्रीय पात्रता सह प्रवेश परीक्षा, NEET PG काउंसलिंग 2021 अब जल्द ही शुरू होगी।

केंद्र ने गुरुवार को शीर्ष अदालत को बताया कि एनईईटी-पीजी परीक्षा अधिसूचना जारी होने के बाद ओबीसी और ईडब्ल्यूएस आरक्षण की शुरुआत “खेल के नियमों को बदलने” के बीच में नहीं है। केंद्र की ओर से सॉलिसिटर जनरल तुषार मेहता ने जस्टिस डीवाई चंद्रचूड़ और एएस बोपन्ना की पीठ से कहा कि ओबीसी आरक्षण असंवैधानिक है, यह कानूनी रूप से टिकाऊ नहीं है। ईडब्ल्यूएस श्रेणी के लिए 8 लाख रुपये की आय मानदंड के आवेदन को सही ठहराते हुए, मेहता ने कहा कि सामाजिक न्याय और अधिकारिता मंत्रालय द्वारा उचित विचार-विमर्श के बाद निर्णय लिया गया था।
उन्होंने तर्क दिया कि एक परीक्षा में एक उम्मीदवार का प्रदर्शन आरक्षण पर निर्भर नहीं करता है और एक छात्र को अपना सर्वश्रेष्ठ प्रदर्शन करना होता है। “मैं (उम्मीदवार) यह नहीं कह सकता कि 10 प्रतिशत आरक्षण है, मैं थोड़ा कम प्रदर्शन कर सकता हूं,” उन्होंने कहा कि फरवरी, 2021 में जब परीक्षा ब्रोशर जारी किया गया था तो यह स्पष्ट किया गया था कि आरक्षण की घोषणा की जाएगी।

न्यायमूर्ति डी वाई चंद्रचूड़ और न्यायमूर्ति एएस बोपन्ना की पीठ ने कहा कि शैक्षणिक वर्ष 2021-22 के लिए एनईईटी-पीजी के लिए काउंसलिंग पहले से अधिसूचित मानदंडों के अनुसार आगे बढ़ेगी।
