गन्नौर पटाखे बेचने के विवाद में पानीपत सिटी पुलिस द्वारा पानीपत के पूर्व पार्षद हरीश शर्मा, उनकी बेटी अंजली शर्मा सहित अन्य पर मामला करने से प्रताड़ित होकर हरीश शर्मा ने तीन दिन पहले पानीपत-गोहाना रोड पर बिंझौल नहर में छलांग लगा दी थी। पिछले तीन दिनों से पानीपत प्रशासन व पुलिस लगातार उनका पता लगाने का प्रयास कर रही है, लेकिन अभी तक उनका कोई पता नहीं चल पाया। इसके चलते शनिवार को पानीपत के शहरी विधायक प्रमोद विज, पानीपत डीएसपी संदीप कुमार, पानीपत पार्षद लोकेश नागरू, भाजपा महामंत्री देव दत्ता, सिंचाई विभाग के एक्सईएन सुरेश सैनी व एसडीओ सुखबीर गन्नौर क्षेत्र के खुबडू झाल का मुआयना करने पहुंचे। इस दौरान उन्होंने स्थानीय पुलिस से भी पूर्व पार्षद हरीश शर्मा की तलाश में मदद करने के निर्देश दिए। उन्होंने नहर पर पैनी निगाह रखने के निर्देश दिए। विधायक प्रमोद विज ने सिंचाई विभाग के एक्सईएन से नहर की स्थिती के बारे में जानकारी जुटाई।
गौरतलब है कि दीपावली की रात पानीपत के तहसील कैंप में हंगामा हो गया था। पुलिस पटाखे बेचने वालों को पकड़ रही थी। एक व्यक्ति को पकड़ा तो वहां हरीश शर्मा आ गए। उन्होंने कह दिया कि ये मेरे पटाखे हैं। तब पुलिस ने उन पर और उनकी बेटी अंजली शर्मा सहित दस लोगों पर 11 धाराओं में केस दर्ज कर लिया। इसी के बाद से हरीश शर्मा तनाव में थे। तीन दिन पहले रात को पुलिस की गाड़ियां घर पहुंचने से तनाव और बढ़ गया तो हरीश शर्मा ने गोहाना रोड पर नहर में छलांग लगा दी थी।
