पुरखास गांव पूरे विश्वभर में प्रसिद्ध है। यह वही गांव है जहां बड़े-बड़े ओलंपियन ,अर्जुन अवॉर्डी पहलवान इस गांव ने दिए हैं। इस गांव को पहलवानों के गांव का तमगा प्राप्त है। इस गांव ने ऐसे बेहतरीन खिलाड़ी दिए हैं जिन्होंने विश्व में भारत का परचम लहराया है। ऐसे शानदार हीरे नगीने इस गांव ने दिए हैं।

सोनीपत के गांव पुरखास में बिजेद्र उर्फ बिज्जे पहलवान की याद में दूसरा एक इनामी दंगल श्री प्रकाश पुरी महाराज अखाड़े में करवाया गया है जिसमें श्री श्री 1008 संत गुरु प्रकाश पुरी महाराज के परम शिष्य रविपुरी महाराज ने यहां गुडगांव से पहुंच कर पहलवानों को आशीर्वाद दिया।
रवि पुरी जी महाराज ने कहा है कि यह एक दिव्य संदेश है कि शक्ति प्रयोग सही दिशा में हो। सभी ने महात्मा को नमन किया। एक ऐसे महान संत हैं जो आपको एक दिव्य संदेश दे रहे हैं। प्रभु की शक्ति का वंदन करें,अभिनंदन करं। अपना स्नेह आशीर्वाद देकर गुड़गांव के लिए रवाना हो गए। इनके सारथी दिनेश और साथ में पुरुषोत्तम थे।
यह दंगल बिजेद्र पहलवान की याद में हुआ है, काफी बड़े बड़े पहलवान पुरखास गांव ने दिए हैं.एक से बढ़कर एक पहलवानों ने यहां पर कुश्ती का समां बांधा पुरखास गांव कुश्ती के लिए पूरे विश्व में प्रसिद्ध है। यह वही गांव है जहां सबसे कम उम्र के अर्जुन अवॉर्डी पहलवान रमेश गुलिया, एशियाड के गोल्डमेडलिस्ट नीर गुलिया, कॉमनवेल्थ के गोल्ड मेडलिस्ट पहलवान फूल सिंह गांव के यह तो वो खिलाड़ी जो अभी अपनी पहचान रखते हैं इससे पहले दो सौ से ज्यादा राष्ट्रीय अंतरराष्ट्रीय खिलाड़ी दिए हैं। जिन्होंने विश्व में भारत का परचम लहराया है।
समाज सेवी राजेश पहलवान पुरखासिया ने पहलवानों के हाथ मिलवाए इस मौके पर उन्होंने कहा कि सबसे पहले तो मैं इस पुरखास की धरती को नमन करता हूं। यह वह धरती है चाहे स्वतंत्रता संग्राम की बात हो या देश के लिए सोने के पदक लेने की बात रही हो। इस पुरखास गांव ने जब भी इस की माटी की सुगंध अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर महका दी, कोई भी टूर्नामेंट हुआ, कुश्ती का दंगल को, कबड्डी, वालीवाल, जूडो, बॉक्सिंग सब में पुरखास गांव ने राष्ट्रीय अंतरराष्ट्रीय सतर पर अपनी पहचान बनाइ्र है। कामयाबी सुगंध फैलाई है। पहलवानों ने यहां पर बहुत ही खूबसूरती के दांव पेंच लगाएं अपनी शक्ति का प्रदर्शन किया। पहलवान को अपनी कला का जौहर दिखाने का मौका मिला, कुश्ती मैट पर चल रही है।
