जाली दस्तावेजों के जरिए फर्जी भारतीय पहचान पत्र हासिल करने वाले पाकिस्तानी नागरिक की पहचान पाकिस्तान के पंजाब प्रांत के निवासी मोहम्मद अशरफ उर्फ अली के रूप में हुई है। डीसीपी स्पेशल सेल प्रमोद कुशवाहा के मुताबिक, मोहम्मद असरफ भारतीय पहचान का इस्तेमाल करते हुए एक दशक से ज्यादा समय से भारत में हैं। प्रारंभिक जांच में विध्वंसक गतिविधियों को अंजाम देने वाले स्लीपर सेल के रूप में उसकी संलिप्तता का पता चला। गिरफ्तार आरोपी राष्ट्रीय राजधानी के शास्त्री नगर निवासी अली अहमद नूरी के नाम से भारतीय नागरिक के तौर पर रह रहा था।
