राष्ट्रीय जनता दल के नेता लालू प्रसाद के सबसे करीबी रहे रघुवंश प्रसाद सिंह (74) का रविवार को निधन हो गया। उन्होंने दिल्ली के एम्स में आखरी सांस ली। रघुवंश प्रसाद सिंह पिछले चार दिनों से सांस की तकलीफ से लड़ रहे थे। उन्हें ICU में भर्ती कराया गया था।
रघुवंश जब पटना के एम्स में भर्ती थे, तब उन्होंने 23 जून को राष्ट्रीय जनता दल के उपाध्यक्ष पद से त्याग पत्र दे दिया था। इसके जवाब में लालू ने पत्र लिखकर रघुवंश प्रसाद सिंह से कहा था कि वह पार्टी छोड़कर कहीं नहीं जा रहे हैं। लालू यादव ने उनके निधन पर शोक व्यक्त किया है। वे रामा सिंह के राजद में आने की खबरों को लेकर नाराज चल रहे थे। रघुवंश की 18 जून को कोरोना की रिपोर्ट पॉजिटिव आ गयी थी। एक जुलाई को उन्हें पटना एम्स से छुट्टी मिल गई थी। रघुवंश 1977 में पहली बार विधायक बने थे। 5 बार सांसद चुने गए।
