उपायुक्त श्याम लाल पूनिया ने कहा कि सप्ताह में एक दिन मनोरंजन का भी होना चाहिए। जिसमें विविधता और आनंद हो तथा तनावमुक्त जीवन जीयें। रविवार को वे सेक्टर 12 में राहगिरी कार्यक्रम में उपस्थित बच्चों व आम जन को संबोधित कर रहे थे।
उपायुक्त पुनिया ने कहा कि कोविड-19 के चलते पिछले साल राहगिरी कार्यक्रम को स्थगित करना पड़ा, लेकिन अब इस महामारी से थोड़ी राहत के चलते इसे दोबारा शुरू कर दिया है। उपायुक्त ने राहगिरी कार्यक्रम में सडक सुरक्षा थीम को लेकर कहा कि सडक सुरक्षा एक ऐसा विषय है, जिसके लिए जागरूक होना जरूरी है। इसके महत्व को देखते हुए 18 जनवरी से 17 फरवरी तक सडक सुरक्षा माह मनाया जा रहा है। इस दौरान उपायुक्त ने उपस्थित बच्चों व नागरिकों को संकल्प दिलाया कि वे सडक पर वाहन चलाते समय सभी सुरक्षा संबंधी बातों का ध्यान रखेंगे, यातायात नियमों का पालन करेंगे और दूसरों को भी इसके लिए प्रेरित करेंगे। इसके अलावा सडक पर किसी दुर्घटना पीड़ित व्यक्ति की मदद के लिए अग्रसर रहेंगे।
रस्सा कस्सी, कबड्डी, बाक्सिंग, बॅालीवाल जैसे खेल शामिल किए गए थे। सांस्कृतिक मंच से बच्चों ने हरियाणवीं प्रस्तुति देकर उपस्थित लोगों का मनोरंजन किया। कार्यक्रम में कैप्टन संजय श्योराण के नेतृत्व में आईटीआई सोनीपत के एनसीसी कैडेटस ने सडक जागरूकता अभियान में भाग लिया।
पुलवामा आतंकी हमले में हुए शहीदों को श्रृद्धांजली दी और वृक्षा रोपण किया। प्रतिभागियों को सम्मानित किया। असिस्टेंट सेक्रेटरी सुभाष चंदा, ट्रांसपोर्ट इंस्पेक्ट राजेश मलिक, शिव युवा शक्ति संघ के अध्यक्ष दीपक कुमार, देवेन्द्र गौतम आदि शामिल रहे। मंच संचालन भूमिका शर्मा ने किया गया।
