कांग्रेस के नए अध्यक्ष की ताजपोशी: मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे ने ‘मजदूर का बेटा’ को पार्टी अध्यक्ष बनाने के लिए कांग्रेस को धन्यवाद दिया
गांधी परिवार के दौड़ से बाहर होने के बाद खड़गे ने ग्रैंड ओल्ड पार्टी में शीर्ष पद के लिए सीधे मुकाबले में तिरुवनंतपुरम के सांसद शशि थरूर को हराया।
वयोवृद्ध नेता मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे ने बुधवार को कांग्रेस पार्टी के अध्यक्ष के रूप में पदभार संभाला और 24 साल के अंतराल के बाद पहले गैर-गांधी पार्टी के अध्यक्ष बने। उन्होंने ‘मजदूर का बेटा’ को पार्टी का अध्यक्ष बनाने के लिए पार्टी को धन्यवाद दिया। उन्होंने कहा, “मैंने नीचे से ऊपर तक अपना काम किया है और आज मैं इस पद पर आपके सामने खड़ा हूं। मैंने सभी संघर्षों का सामना किया है जो किसी भी कार्यकर्ता का सामना करना पड़ता है और इस कारण से, मैं कह सकता हूं कि हम सभी बाधाओं का एक साथ सामना करेंगे।
गांधी परिवार के दौड़ से बाहर होने के बाद खड़गे ने ग्रैंड ओल्ड पार्टी में शीर्ष पद के लिए सीधे मुकाबले में तिरुवनंतपुरम के सांसद शशि थरूर को हराया।
पदभार ग्रहण करने से पहले खड़गे ने पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री मनमोहन सिंह से उनके आवास पर मुलाकात की और उनके साथ कुछ समय बिताया।
80 वर्षीय खड़गे ऐसे समय में पार्टी की कमान संभाल रहे हैं, जब उसे प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के नेतृत्व वाली भाजपा से कड़ी चुनौती का सामना करना पड़ रहा है, जिसने कांग्रेस को कई राज्यों से बाहर कर दिया है।
खड़गे के लिए, जिन्होंने कर्नाटक विधानसभा में विपक्ष के नेता, लोकसभा में कांग्रेस के नेता और बाद में राज्यसभा में विपक्ष के नेता के रूप में कार्य किया है, वर्तमान कार्यभार ऐसे समय में आता है जब पार्टी चुनावी रूप से ऐतिहासिक निचले स्तर पर है। .
कांग्रेस के अब केवल दो राज्यों – राजस्थान और छत्तीसगढ़ – में अपने दम पर और झारखंड में एक जूनियर पार्टनर के रूप में सत्ता में रहने के कारण, खड़गे की पहली चुनौती हिमाचल प्रदेश और गुजरात में पार्टी को सत्ता में लाना है, जहां चुनाव होने हैं। हिमाचल प्रदेश में विधानसभा चुनाव 12 नवंबर को हैं। गुजरात चुनाव की तारीखों का ऐलान होना बाकी है।
2023 में, खड़गे को नौ विधानसभा चुनावों में कांग्रेस का नेतृत्व करने के कठिन कार्य का सामना करना पड़ेगा, जिसमें उनके गृह राज्य कर्नाटक भी शामिल है, जहां वह नौ बार विधायक थे।
खड़गे का चुनाव ऐसे समय में हुआ है, जब पार्टी आंतरिक गड़बडि़यों से जूझ रही है और चुनावी हार की एक श्रृंखला के बाद हाई-प्रोफाइल बाहर हो गई है और अपने पूर्व दुर्जेय स्व की छाया में सिमट गई है।
गुलबर्गा नगर परिषद के प्रमुख के रूप में अपने करियर की शुरुआत करते हुए, खड़गे ने राज्य मंत्री और गुलबर्गा (2009 और 2014) से लोकसभा सांसद के रूप में भी काम किया है।
पुराना योद्धा 2019 के लोकसभा चुनाव को छोड़कर गुलबर्गा से चुनाव नहीं हारने के लिए जाना जाता है।
उस हार के बाद सोनिया गांधी ने खड़गे को राज्यसभा में लाया और फरवरी 2021 में उन्हें विपक्ष का नेता बनाया।
खड़गे को विपक्षी क्षेत्र में कांग्रेस की प्रधानता बहाल करने, उदयपुर में मई के मध्य में चिंतन शिविर में पार्टी द्वारा किए गए कट्टरपंथी सुधारों को लागू करने और अपनी स्वतंत्रता को बनाए रखने की चुनौती का सामना करना पड़ रहा है, जिसमें कहा गया है कि वह गांधी परिवार के उम्मीदवार हैं और करेंगे। सभी निर्णयों में उनकी स्वीकृति प्राप्त करें।
