मार्च 2020 में करतारपुर कॉरिडोर पर आवाजाही को निलंबित कर दिया गया था, जब पाकिस्तान ने कोविड के प्रकोप के बाद भारत से यात्रा पर प्रतिबंध लगा दिया था।
इससे पहले, प्रधानमंत्री ने सिख धर्म के संस्थापक गुरु नानक देव को उनकी जयंती पर श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करते हुए कहा कि एक न्यायपूर्ण, दयालु और समावेशी समाज की उनकी दृष्टि लोगों को प्रेरित करती है।
मोदी ने झांसी की रानी रानी लक्ष्मीबाई को भी श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की, जो ब्रिटिश सेना से लड़ते हुए मर गईं, उन्होंने कहा कि भारत के इतिहास में उनका एक विशेष स्थान है और उनकी बहादुरी को पीढ़ियों द्वारा भुलाया नहीं जा सकेगा।
