नई दिल्ली/जीजेडी न्यूज: पंजाब विधानसभा चुनाव 2022 के मतदान दिवस से ठीक पहले, पूर्व केंद्रीय कानून मंत्री और कांग्रेस में वरिष्ठ नेता अश्विनी कुमार ने मंगलवार को पार्टी के साथ अपने 46 साल पुराने जुड़ाव को तोड़ दिया।
पार्टी से इस्तीफा देते हुए, कुमार ने अंतरिम अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी को एक पत्र में कहा: “इस मामले पर अपने विचारपूर्वक विचार करने के बाद, मैंने निष्कर्ष निकाला है कि वर्तमान परिस्थितियों में और अपनी गरिमा के अनुरूप, मैं देश के बाहर बड़े राष्ट्रीय कारणों का सबसे अच्छा समर्थन कर सकता हूं।
अपने पत्र में, पंजाब के पूर्व राज्यसभा सांसद ने आगे लिखा है कि वह “हमारे स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों द्वारा परिकल्पित उदार लोकतंत्र के वादे के आधार पर परिवर्तनकारी नेतृत्व के विचार से प्रेरित सार्वजनिक कारणों को सक्रिय रूप से आगे बढ़ाने की उम्मीद करते हैं।
