शुक्रवार को हॉकी के जादूगर ध्यानचंद के जन्मदिन की पूर्व संध्या पर शाहबाद के हॉकी स्टेडियम में खेल मंत्री संदीप सिंह और भारतीय महिला हॉकी टीम के पूर्व कोच हरेंद्र सिंह विशेष रूप से पहुंचे और खिलाडिय़ों को हॉकी दिवस की बधाई दी। हरेन्द्र सिंह हरियाणा के खेल मंत्री सुरमा संदीप सिंह के मुख्य हॉकी कोच भी रहे हैं और इन्हीं के नेतृत्व में खेल मंत्री संदीप सिंह ने भारतीय हॉकी में पहला कदम रखा था और उसके बाद देश के लिए कई इतिहास रचा। भारतीय महिला हॉकी टीम के पूर्व कोच हरेंद्र सिंह ने नये खिलाडिय़ों को हॉकी की बारीकियां समझाते हुए कहा कि पासिंग, रिसिविंग और टैकलिंग ही हॉकी के मुख्य पहलू हैं और इनके अभ्यास के साथ ही खिलाड़ी इंडिया टीम तक पहुंच सकता है।

राष्ट्रीय खेल को बढ़ावा देंखेल मंत्री संदीप सिंह का विजन अब मासिस में जाकर अब प्राईमरी लेवल से खेल व खिलाडिय़ों को उजागर करने की है। हम मानते हैं कि हमारी सभी की डयूटी बनती है कि राष्ट्रीय खेल को बढ़ावा दें। हर खिलाड़ी के लिए खेल के लिए कमिटमेंट, डेडिकेशन और लव रखे और उसके साथ अनुशासन जरूरी है जोकि संदीप सिंह में बहुत ज्यादा था। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रदेश के खेल मंत्री संदीप सिंह के साथ-साथ मुख्यमंत्री हरियाणा की विजन का आभार व्यक्त करता हूँ , जिन्होंने वल्र्डकप व ओलंपिक के लिए चयनित होने वाले खिलाड़ी को टुर्नामेंट से पहले ही पांच लाख की राशि देने का निर्णय लिया है ताकि खिलाड़ी खुद को अच्छी तरह से गेम्स के लिए तैयार कर सके और प्रोत्साहन मिल सके। खेल मंत्री संदीप सिंह ने हॉकी स्टेडियम में पहुंचने पर पूर्व कोच हरेन्द्र सिंह का स्वागत किया और खेल योजनाओं के बारें में बताया। इस अवसर पर लेफ्निेंट विक्रमजीत सिंह मोंटी, कोच मिनाक्षी, कोच हरजिन्द्र कौर, कोच अमनदीप सिंह, कोच कुलविन्द्र सिंह, गुरविन्द्र सिंह बैंस, कोच गुरप्रीत सिंह, कोच किन्द्री सहित अनेक गणमान्य व्यक्ति मौजूद रहे।
