नई दिल्ली: सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने मंगलवार को कहा कि बंद हो चुकी किंगफिशर एयरलाइंस से जुड़े 9,000 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक के बैंक ऋण चूक मामले में आरोपी भगोड़े व्यवसायी विजय माल्या की अवमानना के मामले में आखिरकार अगले साल 18 जनवरी को सुनवाई होगी। यह देखते हुए कि शीर्ष अदालत ने ‘काफी लंबा’ इंतजार किया है, न्यायमूर्ति यू यू ललित की अध्यक्षता वाली पीठ ने कहा, ‘हम अब और इंतजार नहीं कर सकते’।

शीर्ष अदालत ने इससे पहले माल्या की 2017 के फैसले की समीक्षा की मांग करने वाली याचिका को खारिज कर दिया था, जिसमें उन्हें अदालत के आदेशों के उल्लंघन में अपने बच्चों को 40 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर हस्तांतरित करने के लिए अवमानना का दोषी ठहराया गया था। इस साल 18 जनवरी को केंद्र ने शीर्ष अदालत को बताया कि सरकार माल्या को यूनाइटेड किंगडम से प्रत्यर्पित करने के लिए सभी प्रयास कर रही है, लेकिन इस मामले में कुछ कानूनी मुद्दों के कारण प्रक्रिया में देरी हो रही है।
