आज केरल विधानसभा के अंदर वाम लोकतांत्रिक मोर्चा सरकार के खिलाफ कांग्रेस नीत संयुक्त लोकतांत्रिक मोर्चा जरिए लगाया गया। अविश्वास प्रस्ताव सोमवार को गिर गया यह प्रस्ताव 40 के मुकाबले में 87 वोट से गिर गया। केरल विधानसभा के अध्यक्ष पी रामकृष्णन ने यह आधिकारिक तौर पर घोषणा की अविश्वास प्रस्ताव पर वोट गिरने से पहले केरल के मुख्यमंत्री विजयन ने कांग्रेस पर निशाना साधते हुए कहा कि पार्टी इन गंभीर हालत में है और कांग्रेस के ज्यादातर नेता भाजपा में शामिल होने का मौका ढूंढ रहे हैं।
गौरतलब है कि साल 2005 में केरल की तत्कालीन कांग्रेस की ओमन चांडी सरकार के विरुद्ध माकपा के विधायक कोलियरी बालाकृष्णन द्वारा विश्वास प्रस्ताव रखे जाने के 15 साल के बाद आज केरल विधानसभा मैं भी सरकार के खिलाफ अविश्वास प्रस्ताव रखा गया था।

केरल के 140 सदस्य विधान सभा में तकरीबन 9 घंटे तक चली इस बहस के बाद वोटों का विभाजन हुआ। इस प्रस्ताव के विरोध 87 वोट पड़े लेकिन इस प्रस्ताव के हक में 40 वोट भी पढ़े हैं। यूडीएफ के सहयोगी केरल कांग्रेस जो उसके मणिपुर के 2 सदस्य मत विभाजन के दौरान सदन में मौजूद नहीं थे। भाजपा के एकमात्र सदस्य और आज गोपालन ने भी इस प्रक्रिया में हिस्सा नहीं लिया। विजयन ने कांग्रेस में चल रहे विवाद पर भी टिप्पणी करते हुए कहा कि पार्टी नेता नहीं सुन पा रही है और वरिष्ठ नेता एक दूसरे को भाजपा का एजेंट बता दे रहे हैं। के मंत्री पिंगले विज्ञान ने यह भी दावा किया है कि कांग्रेस के ज्यादातर नेता भाजपा में शामिल होने का मौका ढूंढ रहे हैं।
