भारतीय महिला वॉलीबॉल टीम की पूर्व कप्तान एवं महान फर्राटा धावक मिल्खा सिंह की पत्नी निर्मल कौर का यहां रविवार को कोरोना वायरस संक्रमण के कारण निधन हाे गया। उन्होंने मोहाली के एक निजी अस्पताल में अंतिम सांस ली। वह 85 वर्ष की थीं।
एसएस न्यूज.मोहाली। भारतीय महिला वॉलीबॉल टीम की पूर्व कप्तान एवं महान फर्राटा धावक मिल्खा सिंह की पत्नी निर्मल कौर का यहां रविवार को कोरोना वायरस संक्रमण के कारण निधन हाे गया। उन्होंने मोहाली के एक निजी अस्पताल में अंतिम सांस ली। वह 85 वर्ष की थीं। मिल्खा सिंह के परिवार ने एक बयान में कहा, “ हमें यह बताते हुए बेहद दुख हो रहा है कि कोरोना वायरस के खिलाफ बहादुरी से लड़ाई लड़ने के बाद निर्मल मिल्खा सिंह का रविवार शाम चार बजे निधन हो गया। ” वह कोरोना निमोनिया से पीड़ित थी और चार जून से हाई फ्लो नेजल कैनुला (एचएफएनसी) और नॉन इनवेसिव वेंटिलेशन (एनआईवी) सपोर्ट पर थी।
उनके परिवार में मिल्खा सिंह, तीन बेटी डॉ. मोना सिंह, अलीजा ग्रोवर, सोनिया सनवल्का और पुत्र जीव मिल्खा सिंह हैं। दिवंगत निर्मल का रविवार शाम को ही अंतिम संस्कार कर दिया गया था। पीजीआईएमईआर के आईसीयू में भर्ती मिल्खा सिंह अंतिम संस्कार में शामिल नहीं हो सके। उल्लेखनीय है कि मिल्खा सिंह ने अपनी आत्मकथा ‘द रेस ऑफ माई लाइफ ’ के ‘ द ज्वेल्स इन माई क्राउन ‘ नामक एक अध्याय में लिखा है, “ निम्मी (निर्मल) एक समर्पित पत्नी और मां हैं। मैं अभी भी हैरान हूं कि वह अपने व्यक्तिगत और पेशेवर जीवन दोनों का कितनी कुशलता से प्रबंध करती हैं।
