सोनीपत के उपायुक्त की अध्यक्षता में जिला परिषद के 24 वार्डों में से 11 वार्ड महिलाओं के लिए आरक्षित किये गये, जबकि अनुसूचित जाति वर्ग के लिए पांच वार्ड आरक्षित किये गये। पिछड़ा वर्ग के लिए भी दो वार्डों को आरक्षित किया गया।

एसएस न्यूज.सोनीपत। सोनीपत के उपायुक्त की अध्यक्षता में जिला परिषद के 24 वार्डों में से 11 वार्ड महिलाओं के लिए आरक्षित किये गये, जबकि अनुसूचित जाति वर्ग के लिए पांच वार्ड आरक्षित किये गये। पिछड़ा वर्ग के लिए भी दो वार्डों को आरक्षित किया गया।
लघु सचिवालय में ड्रॉ ऑफ लॉट के जरिये जिला परिषद के वार्डों को आरक्षित किया गया। उपायुक्त ललित सिवाच ने बताया अनुसूचित जाति वर्ग के लिए वार्डों का आरक्षण उनकी जनसंख्या के आधार पर किया गया है। अनुसूचित जाति वर्ग की सर्वाधिक जनसंख्या वार्ड नंबर-5 में दर्ज की गई है, जहां अनुसूचित जाति वर्ग की जनसंख्या 23.58 प्रतिशत है। वार्ड-18 (22.48 प्रतिशत जनसंख्या), वार्ड-19 (21.59 प्रतिशत जनसंख्या), वार्ड-20 (21.51 प्रतिशत जनसंख्या) और वार्ड-01 (21.48 प्रतिशत जनसंख्या) को अनुसूचित जाति के लिए आरक्षित किया गया है।

उपायुक्त सिवाच ने सम संख्या के आधार पर अनुसूचित जाति के लिए आरक्षित वार्डों में से वार्ड- 18 व वार्ड-20 को अनुसूचित जाति वर्ग की महिलाओं के लिए आरक्षित किया गया। इसके बाद सामान्य वर्ग की महिलाओं के लिए वार्ड आरक्षित किये गये। सामान्य वर्ग की महिलाओं के लिए वार्ड-3, वार्ड-6, वार्ड-8, वार्ड-10, वार्ड-12, वार्ड-14, वार्ड-16 तथा वार्ड-21 और वार्ड-23 को आरक्षित किया गया। वार्डों के आरक्षण की प्रक्रिया पूर्ण होने उपरांत उपायुक्त ने आपत्ति और सुझाव मांगे। इस अवसर पर जिला परिषद के सीईओ अमरदीप सिंह, एसडीएम शशि वसुंधरा आदि मौजूद थे।
