भाजपा नेताओं ने शनिवार को एसवाईएल नहर पानी के मुद्दे को लेकर गन्नौर शहर के लघु सचिवालय में 1 दिन का उपवास रखा। राज्यसभा सदस्य रामचंद्र जांगड़ा, सोनीपत लोकसभा क्षेत्र के सांसद रमेश कौशिक, गन्नौर क्षेत्र की विधायक निर्मल चौधरी शामिल हुई।
रामचंद्र जांगड़ा ने कहा पंजाब-हरियाणा को अपना छोटा भाई मानता है, लेकिन पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री कैप्टन अमरेंद्र सिंह इस भाईचारे को निभाते नहीं पानी वो देते नहीं जबकि पंजाब का सरप्लस पानी पाकिस्तान को दिया जा रहा है, इसलिये छोटे भाई हरियाणा को एसवाइएल नहर का पानी नहीं मिल रहा। उन्होंने बताया कि भाजपा ने इस धरने के माध्यम से संदेश दिया गया है कि पंजाब सुप्रीम कोर्ट के आदेशानुसार हरियाणा को उसके हक का पानी दे, ताकि हरियाणा के किसानों को सिंचाई के लिए पर्याप्त पानी मिल सके। यदि मुख्यमंत्री कैप्टन अमरेंद्र किसानों के सच्चे हितैषी हैं तो वे हरियाणा के किसानों को भी उनका हक दें।
उन्होंने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री किसानों की आय को दोगुना करने के उद्देश्य से तीन कृषि विधेयक लाए हैं। इस विधेयक में संशोधन भी किए गए हैं, जिन्हें किसान आसानी पढ़ कर विधेयकों को समझ सकते हैं। यह विधेयक किसानों के हित में हैं, ताकि वे पारंपरिक खेती की बजाय प्रगतिशील खेती कर समृद्ध बने।
सांसद रमेश कौशिक ने कहा कि एसवाइएल का पानी बहकर पाकिस्तान की ओर जा रहा है, लेकिन हरियाणा को नहीं मिल रहा। पंजाब हरियाणा को जल्द से जल्द नहर का पानी दे एसवाइएल हरियाणा के किसानों के लिए जीवन रेखा है। इस मौके पर कविता चौधरी, प्रोमिला मलिक, आजाद नेहरा, तीर्थ राणा, धर्मबीर नांदल, शमशेर शर्मा, निशांत छौक्कर, सुनील शर्मा, अरूण त्यागी, मंजू कौशिक, प्रिंस धनवाल आदि मौजूद रहे।
