मसूरी प्रवास के दौरान यूँ तो युगदृष्टा बाबा हरदेव सिंह जी के प्रेम में बंधे भक्तों की निश्छल प्रेमाभक्ति के अनेकों नज़ारे देखने को मिलते ही रहते थे लेकिन जुलाई 2004 में जो नज़ारा मसूरी में देखा वह हृदय पर कुछ अलग ही छाप छोड़ गया।

अत्यंत तंग गलियों से गुजरते हुए बाबा जी उन स्थानों पर पहुँचे, जहाँ वे भक्तजन झोंपड़ीनुमा घरों में अपनी जिंदगी बसर करते हैं। आजीविका कमाने के लिए वे मोची का कार्य करते हैं लेकिन उनके हृदय विशाल हैं। तंग गलियों में रहने के बावजूद संकीर्णता नहीं विशालता धारण की हुई है।

स्थानीय भक्तों से चर्चा करने पर पता चला कि काफी समय से उनकी दिली इच्छा थी कि हृदय सम्राट उनके घरों में चरण डालकर निहाल करें। वे अक्सर कहा करते थे कि- “कभी हमारे घर भी बाबा जी आएंगे?”
प्रेम उनकी आँखों से छलछला आया
उनकी इस अभिलाषा को पूर्ण करते हुए गुरदेव ने मसूरी प्रवास के दौरान उनके घरों में पहुँचकर खुशियाँ प्रदान कीं। बाबा जी को अपने बीच पाकर वे हृदय में उमड़े प्यार को रोक नहीं पाये और अपने ईष्ट के प्रति निश्छल प्रेम उनकी आँखों से छलछला आया। अपनी सुध-बुध खो बैठे वे भक्त दिव्य छवि को एकटक निहारते रहे। यह नज़ारा देखकर यह कथन चरितार्थ हो उठा कि “सद्गुरु गरीब नवाज़” होता है। यह अपने भक्तों को खुशी प्रदान करने के लिए कोई न कोई माध्यम बना ही लेता है।
