सोनीपत के महापौर निखिल मदान ने मंगलवार को काठ मंडी के व्यापारी पंकज मित्तल के साथ हुई घटना पर कहा है कि शहर में चोरी व छीना झपटी की वारदात लगातार बढ़ रही हैं, पुलिस अब तक अपराधियों को पकड़ने में नाकाम रही है। जिससे व्यापारियों में भय का माहौल बढ़ा है। प्रशासन की ओर से ऐसी घटनाओं पर अंकुश लगाने के लिए पुख्ता कदम उठाए जाने चाहिएं । जिला व्यापार मंडल के कार्यकारी शहरी प्रधान एवं टिम्बर एसोसिएशन के प्रधान पवन तनेजा उनके साथ थे।
व्यापारी पंकज मित्तल ने सिटी थाना में दर्ज कराई एफआईआर के माध्यम से बताया कि सोमवार को सुबह करीब पांच बजे वे अपनी बेटी को ट्यूशन पढ़ाने के लिए अपनी डिजायर गाड़ी से सेक्टर 15 में जा रहे थे। मिशन चौक से एक अज्ञात बाईक सवार ने उनका पीछा करना शुरु किया। पुरानी सेक्टर 14 पुलिस चौकी के पास उस अंजान व्यक्ति ने अपनी बाईक उसकी कार के आगे अड़ा दी और उसे नीचे उतरने का इशारा किया। उसने साईड से गाड़ी टेक ओवर करते हुए अपनी गाड़ी भगा ली और बड़ा हादसा होने से बच गया।
