सिंगापुर की सरकार ने कहा है कि ज्यादातर विदेशी श्रमिक अब काम पर लौट सकते हैं क्योंकि महीनों चले लॉकडाउन और जांच के बाद डॉर्मिट्री में अब कोरोना वायरस संक्रमण का खतरा नहीं है। सिंगापुर में संक्रमण के 55,353 मामलों में से ज्यादातर मामले डॉर्मिट्री में रहने वाले लोगों के थे। देश में अब तक कोविड-19 से केवल 27 मौतें हुई हैं। मानव संसाधन मंत्रालय की ओर से मंगलवार देर रात जारी एक वक्तव्य में कहा गया कि 17 एकल ब्लॉक को छोड़कर सभी डॉर्मिट्री को संक्रमण रहित कर दिया गया है।
एकल ब्लॉक का इस्तेमाल पृथक-वास के लिए किया जा रहा है। मंत्रालय ने कहा कि डॉर्मिट्री में रहने वाले सभी विदेशी श्रमिक या तो ठीक हो चुके हैं या संक्रमण मुक्त हो चुके हैं। मंत्रालय ने कहा कि 22,500 श्रमिकों को पृथक-वास में रखा गया है। अधिकांश श्रमिक अब निर्माण, शिपयार्ड और अन्य कारखानों में काम पर लौटने के लिए तैयार हैं।
