पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री और नेता प्रतिपक्ष भूपेंद्र सिंह हुड्डा ने कहा कि किसानों का मसला गंभीर और संवेदनशील है अब हालात चिंताजनक हो गए हैं। आंदोलनरत किसानों की जानें जा रही हैं। गत 24 घंटों में 3 से 4 किसानों की शहादत हो चुकी है। अन्नदाता के प्रति सरकार की अनदेखी पीड़ादायक है। हुड्डा रविवार को सोनीपत में पत्रकारों से बात कर रहे थे।

भूपेंद्र सिंह हुड्डा ने सोनीपत नगर निगम चुनावों में कांग्रेस उम्मीदवारों को जितवाने के लिए जनता का धन्यवाद किया। नवनिर्वाचित मेयर निखिल मदान युवा हैं और लोगों के बीच रहकर उनकी सेवा करेंगे। इससे पहले हुड्डा ने शिक्षाविद् होशियार सिंह मलिक को सभा में पहुंचकर श्रद्धांजलि दी।

कहा कि किसान की तकलीफ पूरे देश की तकलीफ है, क्योंकि बोता तो किसान है लेकिन खाता पूरा हिंदुस्तान है। हुड्डा ने कहा कि सरकार को बिना देरी लगाए तीनों कृषि क़ानूनों को रद्द करे और किसानों की सहमति से ही भविष्य में कोई फ़ैसला ले। नेता प्रतिपक्ष ने कहा कि हम किसानों के मुद्दे पर विधानसभा में चर्चा और सरकार के ख़िलाफ़ अविश्वास प्रस्ताव लाना चाहते हैं। लेकिन राज्यपाल अपनी संवैधानिक शक्तियों का इस्तेमाल करके सत्र बुलाने से परहेज़ कर रहे हैं। हमारी अपील पर विपक्ष के विधायकों से मिलने से इंकार कर दिया। हम एक बार फिर राज्यपाल से मिलने और सत्र बुलाने की अपील करेंगे।

हुड्डा ने कहा कि किसान, नौजवान, मजदूर, दुकानदार, कर्मचारी और छोटा व्यापारी हर वर्ग परेशान है। बुज़ुर्गों को भी नहीं बख्शा और उनके पेंशन में हर साल होने वाली 250 रुपये की बढ़ोतरी को रोक दिया। गठबंधन सहयोगी जेजेपी ने बुज़ुर्गों को 5100 रुपये पेंशन देने का वादा किया था। लेकिन सत्ता में आने के बाद उसने अपने वादे के उलट पहले से जारी पेंशन बढ़ोत्तरी को भी रोक दी। विधायक जगबीर मलिक, पूर्व स्पीकर कुलदीप शर्मा, विधायक सुरेंद्र पंवार, जयवीर वाल्मीकि, इंदुराज नरवाल, सुखबीर फरमाना, मेयर निखिल मदान, सुरेन्द्र दहिया, सुरेन्द्र छिकारा, बिजेंद्र आंतिल, भलेराम जांगड़ा, सुरेश जोगी, अनूप मलिक, कमल हसीजा, हरेंद्र सैनी, कुलबीर सरोहा आदि उपस्थित रहे।
