हुड्डा ने कहा कि एक और बेनतीजा वार्ता के बाद एक और तारीख देना सरकार की हठधर्मिता को दर्शाता है। अन्नदाता की बात मानना सरकार की ज़िम्मेदारी है। हमने भी सरकार में रहते हुए किसान हित को हमेशा प्राथमिकता दी। हमारी सरकार के समय किसानों को उनकी फसलों – कपास, धान, गेहूं, गन्ना, पोपुलर आदि के उचित दाम मिले। इसलिए हमारी सरकार के दौरान प्रदेश में कोई किसान आंदोलन नहीं हुआ। हुड्डा ने ऐलान किया कि मौजूदा सरकार अगर किसानों की मांग नहीं मानती है तो कांग्रेस सरकार बनने पर ये काम किया जाएगा।
नेता प्रतिपक्ष ने पत्रकारों से बातचीत करते हुए कहा कि नये कृषि क़ानून किसानों की बजाय कॉरपोरेट घरानों को लाभ पहुंचाने के लिए बनाए गए हैं। इन कानूनों से किसानों को नुकसान होगा, इसीलिए किसान इसका विरोध कर रहे हैं। वो किसानों की मांगों का पूर्ण समर्थन करते हैं और पहले दिन से इस लड़ाई में उसके साथ खड़े हैं। क्योंकि, किसान की दिक्कत पूरे देश की सांझा दिक्कत है। फसल बेशक किसान अकेला बोता है, लेकिन उसे खाता पूरा देश है। मौजूदा सरकार किसान और नौजवान, दोनों की अनदेखी कर रही है।
आज किसान खुले आसमान के नीचे सर्दी के थपेड़े झेल रहा है और नौजवान बेरोज़गारी की मार झेल रहा है। हुड्डा ने सीएमआईई द्वारा जारी की गई दिसंबर महीने की ताज़ा रिपोर्ट का ज़िक्र करते हुए कहा कि हरियाणा एकबार फिर बेरोज़गारी में टॉप पर रहा है। अबकी बार बेरोज़गारी दर 32.5 प्रतिशत आंकी गई है।
इसका मतलब हुआ कि हरियाणा में हर तीसरा आदमी बेरोज़गार है। हरियाणा की बेरोज़गारी दर राष्ट्रीय औसत से भी चार गुना ज्यादा है। हुड्डा ने कहा कि ऐसा इसलिए हो रहा है क्योंकि सरकार रोज़गार देने की बजाए छीनने में लगी है। हुड्डा ने नौकरी से निकाले गए पीटीआई, ड्राइंग टीचर्स और ग्रुप डी कर्मचारियों को फिर से नौकरी पर रखने की मांग की।
