एसएस न्यूज.वेलिंगटन। न्यूजीलैंड में 30000 नर्सें आठ घंटों की हड़ताल पर चली गई हैं। यह लोग वेतन बढ़ाने की मांग कर रही हैं। साथ ही इनकी मांग है कि इन्हें बेहतर कार्य करने का माहौल दिया जाए। दरअसल नर्सों के संगठन ने जिला स्वास्थ्य बोर्ड की ओर से इनके वेतन में 1.4 प्रतिशत की बढ़ोत्तरी के प्रस्ताव को नामंजूर कर दिया और हड़ताल पर चली गई हैं। सरकार की ओर से कहा गया है कि नर्सें 17 प्रतिशत बढ़ोत्तरी की मांग कर रही हैं जिसे देने में सरकार समर्थ नहीं हैं लेकिन सरकार की ओर से बात करने का वादा किया गया है। सैकड़ों नर्सें हाथों में तख्ती लिए हुए सड़कों पर प्रदर्शन करने लगीं तो कुछ अस्पतालों के बाहर और पार्क में प्रदर्शन कर रही थीं।
एसोसिएशन ऑफ सैलरीड मेडिकल स्पेशलिस्ट की अध्यक्ष डॉ जूलियन व्यास का कहना है कि नर्स वह गोंद हैं जो केयर सर्विसिस की सेवाओं को जोड़कर रखती हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि अगर यह लोग हड़ताल पर चली जाती हैं तो बड़ी समस्या हो सकती है जिसका समाधान करना जरूरी है। नर्सों की शिकायत है कि परिस्थितियां दिन प्रतिदिन खराब हो रही हैं। साथ ही उन्होंने कम भुगतान की शिकायत की है।
नर्सों के संगठन की ओर से बयान जारी कर कहा गया है कि वर्तमान में इस पेशे में जो वेतन है वह लोगों को अपनी ओर नहीं खींच पाता है। क्लीनिकल नर्स स्पेशलिस्ट डियाने मेककुलोक ने बताया कि पूरी महामारी के दौरान हम लोग खड़े रहे और हमने अपनी और अपने परिवार की जान को ताक पर रखा लेकिन इसके परिणाम में हमें इस तरह धन्यवाद किय़ा जा रहा है। उल्लेखनीय है कि हड़ताल के कारण सभी गैर जरूरी सर्जरी को रद्द कर दिया गया है और आउटपेशेंट क्लीनिक को बंद भी बंद कर दिया गया है।
