नई दिल्ली: भारत के पूर्व विकेटकीपर सबा करीम ने बीसीसीआई से भारतीय क्रिकेट में एमएस धोनी के योगदान के सम्मान में प्रतिष्ठित नंबर 7 जर्सी को रिटायर करने का अनुरोध किया है। सबसे सफल कप्तानों में से एक माने जाने वाले धोनी ने बुधवार को अपना 40वां जन्मदिन मनाया।
धोनी खेल के इतिहास में एकमात्र ऐसे कप्तान हैं जिन्होंने तीन आईसीसी ट्रॉफी – टी 20 विश्व कप (2007), एकदिवसीय विश्व कप (2011) और चैंपियंस ट्रॉफी (2013) जीती हैं। यह रांची के दिग्गज के नेतृत्व में था कि भारत ने खेल के टेस्ट और एकदिवसीय प्रारूप दोनों में पहला स्थान हासिल किया।
