नई दिल्ली: सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने मंगलवार को चार धाम परियोजना के हिस्से के रूप में सड़कों को चौड़ा करने का रास्ता साफ कर दिया। न्यायमूर्ति डी वाई चंद्रचूड़ की अध्यक्षता वाली पीठ ने सरकार की इस दलील से सहमति जताई कि क्षेत्र में चौड़ी सड़कें रणनीतिक महत्व की हैं।

अदालत ने शीर्ष अदालत के एक पूर्व न्यायाधीश – न्यायमूर्ति एके सीकरी की अध्यक्षता में एक निरीक्षण समिति भी बनाई, जो परियोजना की प्रगति पर हर चार महीने में सर्वोच्च न्यायालय को रिपोर्ट करेगी, जिसमें राष्ट्रीय पर्यावरण अनुसंधान संस्थान और मंत्रालय के प्रतिनिधि भी होंगे। पर्यावरण का। इसका उद्देश्य मौजूदा सिफारिशों का कार्यान्वयन सुनिश्चित करना है।
