मोदी की केंद्र सरकार के तीन कृषि अध्यादेशों को किसान का विरोधी बताते भारतीय किसान संघ और अन्य किसान संगठनों ने उनके विरोध में वीरवार को हरियाणा के कुरुक्षेत्र जिले के पिपली में राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग को जाम कर दिया। भारतीय किसान संघ ने दावा किया है कि पुलिस ने उन्हें हटाने के लिए लाठी-चार्ज भी किया है। इस बात को लेकर बॉलीवुड के मशहूर अभिनेता जीशान अय्यूब ने भी ट्वीट किया है, जिसमें उन्होंने लिखा कि सिर्फ लाठी मारने से क्या होगा यार, गोली मार दो सारे किसानों को, मजदूरों को और आम लोगों को और अगर वह फिर भी बच जाएं तो लिंच करवा देना, इल्जाम डालने के लिए भगवान तो हैं हीं।

उधर किसानों की बात की जाए तो जहां एक तरफ भारतीय किसान संघ ने ये दावा किया है कि पुलिस ने उन के पर लाठीचार्ज किया है तो वहीं एक पुलिस अधिकारी का ये कहना है, सैकड़ों किसान पिपली चौक तक पहुंचे और पुलिसकर्मियों पर पथराव किया। अधिकारी ने कहा कि भीड़ को हटाने के लिए पुलिस ने लाठीचार्ज का सहारा लेना पडा। बाद में, प्रदर्शनकारी यातायात रोकने के लिए राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग 22 पर धरने पर बैठ गए। “किसान बचाओ, मंडी बचाओ” रैली के लिये किसानों को पिपली अनाज मंडी में पहुंचने से रोकने के लिए जिला प्रशासन द्वारा की गई कड़ी व्यवस्था के बावजूद कई किसान वहां पहुंचने में सफल रहे।
