एक पुलिस अधिकारी ने कहा कि कोलकाता पुलिस, जो भवानीपुर में बूथों के बाहर सुरक्षा की प्रभारी होगी, ने पहले ही निर्वाचन क्षेत्र में 38 स्थानों पर धरना स्थापित कर दिया है। भबनीपुर में त्वरित प्रतिक्रिया दलों सहित बलों की भारी तैनाती होगी। जंगीपुर और समसेरगंज सीटों पर भी सुरक्षा बढ़ा दी गई है। गुरुवार को हुए वोटों की गिनती 3 अक्टूबर को होगी। बनर्जी भाजपा की प्रियंका टिबरेवाल और भवानीपुर में माकपा के श्रीजीब विश्वास से लड़ेंगी।
