जिला व्यापार मण्डल सोनीपत के संयोजक व मार्केटिंग बोर्ड के पूर्व वॉइस चैयरमेन संजय वर्मा व जिला व्यापार मंडल के प्रधान संजय सिंगला बुधवार शाम जब सोनीपत शहर की पुरानी अनाज मंडी के गेट क़े निकट जब खड़े थे। अचानक मंडी गेट क़े ऊपर से गेट का हिस्सा गिरा। जिससे एक रिक्शा चालक बाल बाल बचा वरना बहुत बड़ा हादसा हो सकता था।
तभी काफी लोग घटनास्थल पर इकठ्ठे हो गये। मंडी प्रधान अजय गोयल, प्रदीप बंसल,सतीश माथुर, रमेश जैन, विनीत अग्रवाल आदि ने बताया कि इस गेट की पपडिया अपने आप उतरकर गिरने लग गई है।

जिला व्यापार मंडल के प्रधान संजय सिंगला ने मंडी के आढ़ती भाइयो को आस्वासन दिया कि यह समस्या शीघ्र ही नगर निगम के अधिकारियों को बताकर दूर करवा दी जाएगी और ठीक होने तक एतिहात बरतने को कहा, क्योकि यहाँ इस गेट के नीचे से रोजाना हजारो लोग आते जाते है और इस हालत में कभी भी बड़ा हादसा हो सकता है।
संजय वर्मा ने बताया कि सोनीपत की यह मंडी 1914 में बनी थी और 1947 में आजादी के बाद लाला लाजपतराय जी नाम पर पूरे हरियाणा में एकमात्र मंडी बनाई गई थी। इसके बाद जिला व्यापार मंडल ने एक पत्र के माध्यम से नगर निगम के कमिश्नर व ज्वाइंट कमिश्नर को फ़ोटो सहित इस समस्या से अवगत कराया गया , और शीघ्र कार्यवाही करने का निवेदन किया। संजय सिंगला नें कहा कि किसी भी व्यापारी की समस्या क़े समाधान क़े लिए जिला व्यापार मंडल सदैव तत्पर है ।
