शनिवार को देवडू गांव में रविदास मंदिर परिसर में हाल का लोकार्पण करने उपरांत मुख्यमंत्री के पूर्व मीडिया सलाहकार राजीव जैन ने संत शिरोमणि रविदास जी की 644वीं जयंती अवसर पर उनके चित्र पर पुष्प अर्पित करने के बाद संबोधित कर रहे थे।

उन्होंने कहा कि प्रदेश के लोकप्रिय मुख्यमंत्री द्वारा पहली बार महर्षि वाल्मीकि जयंती, रविदास जयंती, संत कबीर जयन्ती तथा बाबा साहब डॉ. भीमराव अम्बेडकर जैसे महापुरुषों की जयंतियों को हर वर्ष सरकारी तौर से मनाने का निर्णय लिया गया। सामाजिक समरसता की एक नई शुरुआत हो रही है। आज समरसता दिवस के रूप में इन जयंतियों को मनाने के फैसले से समाज के लोगों में आपसी प्रेम और भाईचारे की भावना के साथ-साथ उत्सव जैसा माहौल हुआ है। कैथल के मुंदडी में महर्षि वाल्मीकि के नाम से संस्कृत विश्वविद्यालय खोलने की घोषणा पूरी हो चुकी है।
