सोनीपत: ऐसे लोकतंत्र के प्रहरी जो युवाओं के लिए मिसाल बने वयोवृद्ध मतदाता
पंच-सरपंचों के चुनावों में शायद गोहाना खंड के अंतर्गत आने वाले गांव सैनीपुरा की भरपाई सर्वाधिक वयोवृद्घ मतदाता रही, जिन्होंने 112 वर्ष की आयु में भी उत्साह के साथ मतदान किया। उम्र के इस पड़ाव में भी वे स्वयं चल लेती हैं।

गन्नौर/सोनीपत: वयोवृद्ध मतदाता जिन्होंने लोकतंत्र के यज्ञ में वोट की आहुति डाली उम्र का कुछ ने तो शतक को पार लिया है। शनिवार को हुए पंच-सरपंचों के चुनावों में इनके द्वारा किया गया मतदान दयुवाओंके लिए प्रेरणा दायक रहा है। कुछ वयोवृद्घ स्वयं चलने में असमर्थ नजर आये, किंतु अपनी लाचारी अपने मताधिकार का प्रयोग करने के आड़े नहीं आई। जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी (पंचायत) एवं उपायुक्त ललित सिवाच ने भी ऐसे मतदाताओं का अभिनंदन करते हुए युवा मतदाताओं को उनका अनुकरण करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया।

सिसाना के रामप्रकाश और बिचपड़ी की चतरा देवी ने 100 वर्ष की आयु में अपने मताधिकार का प्रयोग हर्षोल्लास से किया। उनका कहना था कि लोकतंत्र में मतदान एक उत्सव की भांति होता है, जिसे खुशी के साथ मनाना चाहिए। अर्थात अपने मत का प्रयोग करना चाहिए। सिसाना की ही 90 वर्षीय भवानी देवी स्वयं चलने में असमर्थ हो गई हैं, किंतु मताधिकार के प्रयोग में वे समर्थ नजर आई। भवानी देवी का सुपौत्र उन्हें मतदान केंद्र तक लेकर आया, जिसके बाद उन्होंने अपना वोट डाला।
बहालगढ़ के वयोवृद्घ दंपत्ति ने सावित्री व मोहनलाल ने भी एक साथ अपने मत का प्रयोग किया। मोहनलाल की आयु 95 वर्ष तथा सावित्री 90 वर्ष की हो चुकी है। दोनों सहारा लेकर मतदान केंद्र में पहुंचे और खुशी-खुशी वोट डाली। उनका कहना था कि वे पिछले कई दशक से एक साथ मतदान केंद्र में पहुंचकर अपने मताधिकार का प्रयोग कर रहे हैं। जब तक वे जीवित हैं तब तक मतदान से पीछे नहीं हटेंगे। झरोंठ के 92 वर्षीय वयोवृद्घ जीतराम ने अपने मत का प्रयोग करते हुए कहा कि वे इस अवसर के लिए लालायित रहते हैं। उपायुक्त के निर्देशन में जिला प्रशासन लगातार मतदाताओं को जागरूक और प्रेरित करता है कि सभी मतदाता अपने मताधिकार का प्रयोग अवश्य करें। मतदाताओं का भी फर्ज बनता है कि वे लोकतंत्र को ताकत देने के लिए अपने मत का प्रयोग हर चुनाव में करें।
