राई के पूर्व विधायक इंद्रजीत दहिया का शनिवार को निधन हो गया। 6 मई 1946 में जन्में इंद्रजीत दहिया ने राजनीति की लंबी पारी खेली दो बार राई विधान सभा क्षेत्र से विधायक चुने गए, एक बार पर्चा भरने के बाद वे चुनाव नहीं लड़े। रोहतक में शनिवार को उन्होंने अंतिम स्वांस ली।

वर्ष 2014 के विधानसभा चुनाव में सोनीपत जिले के राई क्षेत्र में मात्र 3 वोट से हारे इनेलो उम्मीदवार इंद्रजीत सिंह दहिया चर्चा में रहे थे। उनकी याचिका पर पंजाब एवं हरियाणा हाईकोर्ट ने उनके हक फैसला सुनाया। प्रदेश में पहली बार डबल वोट मामले में हाईकोर्ट ने चुनाव जीते कांग्रेस के जयतीर्थ दहिया को अयोग्य घोषित किया था।
इनेलो में लंबी राजनीति की पारी खेलने वाले इंद्रजीत दहिया ने इनेलो की टिकट तो ली थी लेकिन 2019 में उन्होंने अपने विपक्ष में चुनाव लड़ने वाले जयतीर्थ दहिया कंग्रेस के प्रत्याशी को अपना समर्थन दे दिया तो पार्टी ने उनको बाहर का रास्ता दिखा दिया।
