इन नेताओं ने पहले कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी को राज्य सरकार में बसपा से कांग्रेसी विधायकों और निर्दलीय विधायकों के अनुचित प्रभाव के बारे में लिखा था। शाहपुरा विधानसभा सीट से पार्टी प्रत्याशी मनीष यादव ने कहा, ‘हम तब तक दिल्ली में डेरा डालते रहेंगे जब तक हम नेताओं से नहीं मिलते और अपनी समस्याएं नहीं बता देते।
