पिछले महीने, सरकार ने 15 दिसंबर से अंतरराष्ट्रीय उड़ान संचालन को सामान्य करने का फैसला किया। कोविड -19 महामारी के कारण मार्च 2020 से भारत के लिए अनुसूचित अंतरराष्ट्रीय उड़ानों को निलंबित कर दिया गया है। वर्तमान में, विभिन्न देशों के साथ द्विपक्षीय हवाई बुलबुले व्यवस्था के तहत अंतरराष्ट्रीय उड़ानें संचालित की जा रही हैं। भारत का फिलहाल 31 देशों के साथ एयर बबल अरेंजमेंट है।
डब्ल्यूएचओ द्वारा “चिंता के प्रकार” के रूप में नामित ओमाइक्रोन संस्करण ने कई देशों द्वारा विभिन्न अफ्रीकी देशों के यात्रियों पर प्रतिबंधों की एक नई लहर को जन्म दिया है। सरकार ने कहा है कि अब तक भारत में ओमाइक्रोन वैरिएंट का कोई मामला सामने नहीं आया है। प्रारंभिक संकेत हैं कि यह संस्करण संभवतः अत्यधिक संक्रामक डेल्टा संस्करण की तुलना में अधिक पारगम्य है और वर्तमान टीके इसके खिलाफ कम प्रभावी हो सकते हैं।
अंतरराष्ट्रीय यात्रियों, खासकर ‘जोखिम वाले’ देशों से आने वाले यात्रियों के लिए मंगलवार को सख्त दिशा-निर्देश लागू हो गए। जोखिम वाले देशों से आने वाले यात्रियों के लिए आरटी-पीसीआर परीक्षण अनिवार्य कर दिया गया है और परीक्षण के परिणाम आने के बाद ही उन्हें हवाई अड्डे से बाहर जाने की अनुमति दी जाएगी।
