तेलंगाना डीपीएच ने कहा कि केन्या से हैदराबाद पहुंचने के बाद ओमाइक्रोन के लिए सकारात्मक परीक्षण करने वाले मरीज को अलग कर दिया गया है और तेलंगाना इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ मेडिकल साइंसेज (टीआईएमएस) में भर्ती कराया गया है, जबकि अधिकारी सोमालिया से यात्री को अलग करने की प्रक्रिया में हैं।
श्रीनिवास राव ने यह भी कहा कि यात्री 12 दिसंबर को शहर पहुंचे हैं और इसकी पुष्टि में 48 घंटे से अधिक का समय लगा। दो सकारात्मक रोगियों में केन्या की 24 वर्षीय एक महिला है जबकि सोमालिया का यात्री 23 वर्षीय व्यक्ति है। हंस इंडिया के हवाले से श्रीनिवास राव ने कहा, “उनके नमूने 12 दिसंबर को एकत्र किए गए और जीनोम अनुक्रमण के लिए भेजे गए। परिणाम मंगलवार रात को सामने आए। उन्होंने कहा कि दोनों परिवार शहर के मेहदीपट्टनम और तोलीचौकी इलाकों में रह रहे थे और उनके परिवारों का परीक्षण किया गया. अब अधिकारी उन्हें आइसोलेट करने और संपर्कों की जांच करने की प्रक्रिया में हैं।
