जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी एवं उपायुक्त श्याम लाल पूनिया ने कहा कि नगर निगम सोनीपत के चुनावों की मतगणना के लिए 30 दिसंबर को प्रात: 07:30 बजे स्ट्रोंग रूम खोले जाएंगे। इसके लिए चुनाव लडऩे वाले प्रत्याशियों को भी सूचित किया गया है ताकि वे स्ट्रोंग रूम खोलते समय मौके पर उपस्थित रह सकें।

जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी एवं उपायुक्त श्याम लाल पूनिया ने कहा कि नगर निगम सोनीपत के चुनावों की मतगणना के लिए 30 दिसंबर को प्रात: 07:30 बजे स्ट्रोंग रूम खोले जाएंगे। इसके लिए चुनाव लडऩे वाले प्रत्याशियों को भी सूचित किया गया है ताकि वे स्ट्रोंग रूम खोलते समय मौके पर उपस्थित रह सकें।
उपायुक्त पूनिया ने जानकारी दी कि निकाय चुनावों के अंतर्गत बिट्स मोहाना में दो स्ट्रोंग रूम बनाये गये हैं। एक स्ट्रोंग रूम में मेयर पद के लिए तथा दूसरे स्ट्रोंग रूम में पार्षद पदों की ईवीएम मशीनें रखी गई हैं। दोनों स्ट्रोंग रूम मजबूत सुरक्षा घेरे में है। स्ट्रोंग रूम निर्धारित निर्देशों की अनुपालना के साथ खोले जाएंंगे। स्ट्रोंग रूम की सुरक्षा के लिए विशेष रूप से छह ड्यूटी मजिस्ट्रेट नियुक्त किये गये हैं, जिनका ड्यूटी समय विभाजित किया गया है।

दोनों स्ट्रोंग रूम की निगरानी के लिए तीन-तीन ड्यूटी मजिस्टे्रट हैं जो आठ-आठ घंटे की ड्यूटी दे रहे हैं। स्ट्रोंग रूम की निगरानी के लिए सीसीटीवी की व्यवस्था भी की गई है। साथ ही उन्होंने बताया कि प्रात: 08:00 बजे मतगणना प्रारंभ की जाएगी। ईवीएम मशीनों से मतों की गिनती की शुरुआत से पहले पोस्टल बैलेट की गिनती की जाएगी।

उपायुक्त ने कहा कि मतगणना के मौके पर चुनाव लडऩे वाले प्रत्याशी व उनके एजेंट उपस्थित रह सकते हैं। मेयर पद के लिए 14 टेबलों व एक आरओ की टेबल पर एजेंट नियुक्त किया जा सकता है। पार्षद पदों के लिए भी हिदायतें जारी की जा चुकी हैं।

उन्होंने कहा कि इलैक्शन एजेंटों को मतगणना केंद्र में निर्धारित शर्तों की अनुपालना के साथ ही प्रवेश की अनुमति दी जाएगी। कोई भी इलैक्शन एजेंट मतगणना केंद्र के अंदर कोई भी वस्तु लेकर नहीं जा सकता। एजेंटों को कागज व पेंसिल प्रशासन द्वारा मुहैया करवाई जाएंगी।
