राई निवासी अमित कुमार ने शिाकयत दी थी कि उसके गांव के ही गौतम व सुमित तथा 2/3 नामपता नामालूम युवकों ने असावरपुर स्थित बिल्डिंग मैटीरियल सप्लाई के कार्यालय पर आकर मनीष उर्फ चीन्टू की चाकू मारकर हत्या कर दी है। पुलिस ने अमित कुमार के ब्यान पर थाना राई में 23 अप्रैल को मुकद्दमा दर्ज किया था।

अनुसंधान टीम में नियुक्त उपनिरीक्षक सतबीर सिंह ने हत्या की घटना में संलिप्त आरोपी गौतम निवासी राई को गिरफ्तार कर लिया है। गिरफ्तार आरोपी से प्रारम्भिक पूछताछ करने पर अपने किये अपराध की स्वीकारोक्ति करते हुये बताया कि पहले हुये लडाई-झगडे की रंजिश को लेकर इस घटना को अन्जाम दिया था। आरोपी को न्यायालय में पेशकर दो दिन के पुलिस रिमांड पर लिया गया है।
