भारत रत्न पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री श्रद्धेय अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी की जयन्ती के उपलक्ष्य में लखनऊ में आयोजित एक कार्यक्रम में वाजपेयी जी के साथ रहने वाले पुराने साथियों को मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ द्वारा सम्मानित किया गया, जिसमें एक नाम नानकचंद्र लखमानी का भी है जिन्होंने अटल जी के साथ काफी समय बिताया।

सिंधी जागरूक मंच के संस्थापक किशोर इसरानी ने बताया कि सिंधीयत को समर्पित शख्सियत, राजयमंत्री का दर्जा प्राप्त उत्तर प्रदेश सिंधी अकादमी के उपाध्यक्ष नानकचंद्र लखमानी जनसंघ के समय से वाजपेयी जी के पुराने साथी मित्रों में शुमार है, वह चुनावों के दौरान अटल जी के साथ रहते थे, उन्हें यह सम्मान मिलने से अटल जी की यादें ताजा हो गई है।
