नई दिल्ली : न्यूजीलैंड के सलामी बल्लेबाज डेवोन कॉनवे और इंग्लैंड की स्पिनर सोफी एक्लेस्टोन ने सोमवार को पुरुष और महिला वर्ग में जून के लिए आईसीसी प्लेयर ऑफ द मंथ का पुरस्कार जीता। कीवी बल्लेबाज ने अपनी टीम के साथी काइल जैमीसन और दक्षिण अफ्रीका के क्विंटन डी कॉक को पछाड़कर यह पुरस्कार जीता। दूसरी ओर, एक्लेस्टोन ने भारत की किशोर बल्लेबाजी सनसनी शैफाली वर्मा और ऑलराउंडर स्नेह राणा से आगे जीत हासिल की।
कॉनवे टेस्ट क्रिकेट में पहले महीने शानदार प्रदर्शन के बाद यह पुरस्कार जीतने वाले न्यूजीलैंड के पहले खिलाड़ी बने। बाएं हाथ के इस बल्लेबाज ने लॉर्ड्स में इंग्लैंड के खिलाफ पदार्पण पर एक ठोस दोहरा शतक बनाया था, इसके बाद अपने अगले दो मैचों में दो अर्धशतक बनाए, जिसमें साउथेम्प्टन में भारत के खिलाफ विश्व टेस्ट चैम्पियनशिप (डब्ल्यूटीसी) फाइनल भी शामिल था।
