गन्नौर: गन्नौर का छोरा आशू कुमार स्पेन में कुश्ती के जौहर दिखाएगा। गांव पांची जाटान के पहलवान आशू कुमार का चयन अंडर-23 विश्व कुश्ती चैंपियनशिप के लिए हुआ है। पहलवान आशू कुमार ग्रीको रोमन स्टाइल कुश्ती के 67 किलो भार में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व करेगा। भारतीय खेल प्राधिकरण के उत्तरी क्षेत्रीय केंद्र (साई) बहालगढ़ में ट्रायल के दौरान किया गया है।
आशू कुमार ने अपने प्रतिद्वंदी अंकित गुलिया को 6-5 से हरा कर अंडर-23 वर्ल्ड कुश्ती चौंपियनशिप में अपनी जगह बनाई थी। यह चैंपियनशिप स्पेन में 17 से 23 अक्तूबर तक होगी। वर्ल्ड कुश्ती चौंपियनशिप में चयन होने के बाद आशू की मां शीला देवी, भाई सुधीर व भाभी ने मिठाई खिला कर खुशी मनाई। आशू के पिता दीवान सिंह ने कहा कि उन्हें अपने बेटे पर पूरा भरोसा है कि वह इस प्रतियोगिता में स्वर्ण पदक जीतेगा। आशू इससे पहले भी सीनियर एशियन कुश्ती चौंपियनशिप में कांस्य पदक जीता था, 2017 में हुए वर्ल्ड कैडेट रैसलिंग चैंपियनशिप में रजत पदक, कोमनवेल्थ गेम्स में स्वर्ण पदक, 2019 में हुई जूनियर नेशनल रेसलिंग चैंपियनशिप में स्वर्ण पदक जीत चुका है। उन्हें उम्मीद है कि इस बार भी वह देश के लिए मेडल जीत कर जरूर लाएगा।
