जिला बाल संरक्षण कार्यालय सोनीपत में सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता पद पर कार्यरत उपासना खरखौदा की निवासी है। बीती सांयकाल घर वापसी के दौरान उन्होंने देखा कि बस अड्डा खरखौदा पर भीड़ एकत्रित है। भीड़ ने एक शराबी व्यक्ति को एक बच्चे के साथ पकड़ रखा था। मामले की गंभीरता को देख सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता तुरंत बच्चे के पास पहुंची और बच्चे से पूरी जानकारी प्राप्त की। ज्ञात हुआ कि बच्चा बखेता का निवासी है, जिसे शराबी व्यक्ति बहलाकर अपने साथ ले आया है।
अपराध के बढ़ते कदम :चाकू के बल पर लूट की घटना में संलिप्त आरोपी गिरफ्तार
तुरंत एक क्षण भी गंवाये बिना सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता उपासना ने पुलिस के सहयोग से बच्चे को शराबी व्यक्ति के पास छुड़वा लिया। उन्होंने बच्चे के माता-पिता को सूचना दी बालक अनिकेत के पिता राकेश फौरन मौके पर पहुंच गए। बखेता के ही सतबीर की मौजूदगी में सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता ने बच्चे को उसके पिता को सौंपते हुए अपने दायित्व का पूर्ण निर्वहन किया। साथ ही उन्होंने आम जनमानस से अपील की कि यदि उन्हें इस प्रकार की संदिग्ध अवस्था में कोई भी बच्चा मिलता है तो उसकी सूचना तुरंत पुलिस को दें। साथ ही चाईल्ड हैल्पलाईन 1098 पर भी इसकी सूचना दी जा सकती है। बच्चों के संरक्षण के लिए लोगों को सचेत व जागरूक रहने की जरूरत है।
