1983 विश्व कप विजेता यशपाल शर्मा (Yashpal Sharma) का आज सुबह हार्ट अटैक के कारण निधन हो गया है। वो 66 साल के थे। एक मध्य क्रम के बल्लेबाज, शर्मा ने 37 टेस्ट मैचों और 42 एक दिवसीय अंतरराष्ट्रीय मैचों में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व किया।
नई दिल्ली : 1983 विश्व कप विजेता यशपाल शर्मा (Yashpal Sharma) का आज सुबह हार्ट अटैक के कारण निधन हो गया है। वो 66 साल के थे। एक मध्य क्रम के बल्लेबाज, शर्मा ने 37 टेस्ट मैचों और 42 एक दिवसीय अंतरराष्ट्रीय मैचों में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व किया। यशपाल शर्मा के नाम टेस्ट क्रिकेट में 2 शतक और 9 अर्धशतक लगाने का रिकॉर्ड दर्ज है और वनडे में 4 अर्धशतकीय पारी भी इस पूर्व यशपाल शर्मा के नाम है। पूर्व क्रिकेटर यशपाल शर्मा ने 1983 विश्व कप में भारत को विश्व विजेता बनाने में अपनी सबसे अहम भूमिका अदा की थी। खासकर सेमीफाइल का वो पल कब भारत इंग्लैंड के खिलाफ मैच में पिछड़ रहा था। उस मैच में यशपाल शर्मा की पारी हमेशा के लिए यादगार है। सेमीफाइनल में यशपाल जी ने 61 रन की अहम पारी खेली थी जिसने भारत के लिए फाइनल में पहुंचने के रास्ते आसान कर दिए थे।
